This classroom will most likely be your child’s first experience in Nursery School. Our goal will be to introduce colors, shapes, numbers, letters of the alphabet, days of the week and themes throughout the year. This will be accomplished through music and movements, stories, rhymes and finger play. Identifying shapes, colors, and counting will enhance the child’s cognitive development. We will also work on fine motor skills through the use of scissors, tearing, tracing and using glue for projects. We will also develop your child’s gross motor skills through the use of activities and projects during the year.
Our class may also be your child's first experience in building socialization skills. We will encourage the children to learn about sharing with each other, how to clean up after projects and to build their confidence level to self-help.
We will also be actively practicing and completing potty training. With the help and support of the parents, we can successfully accomplish our goals.
